Mission Statement
The mission of the Kentucky Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is to promote the healthy development of children, adolescents, and families through advocacy, education, and research, and to meet the professional needs of child and adolescent psychiatrists throughout their careers.

KACAP History
The Kentucky Academy of Child Psychiatry began in August 1979.  Virginia Bausch (Anthony), the current Executive Director of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and Donald Gair, MD, the current AACAP Assembly of Regional Organizations Chair, worked with Paul L. Adams, MD, Louisville, KY to facilitate establishing KACP.  Shortly thereafter, KACP joined the Assembly.  KACP has sent a Delegate to the Assembly regularly and continues to voice its views at those meetings.

In the early 2000's, KACP changed its name to the Kentucky Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
